When I got my iPhone 3G in December, I didn't waste time picking up my matte black Incase Slider. Six months later, and I would never, ever buy another Incase product. They make wonderful products, but the Incase Slider scratched the hell out of my iPhone. It left long, white lines along the sides of my phone where the, "rubber bumper" rubbed the phone when I took the case on or off. I realize that a case that does this may be rare, but I refuse to risk it again.
That being said, once I got my 3GS, I wasted little time in choosing a new case for my iPhone. And I came home with a nice, new Speck Candyshell. I put my phone in just as the instructions said, and everything was great. However, the next day I woke up the next day and took my iPhone off of the charger, only to notice that the lower lip that "covers" the chrom bezel is broken, being held together only by the silicon on the inside of the case. I sent an email to Speck, and a few days later, they got back to me with this to say... "
Unfortunately the white Candyshell has been discontinued and we will not be receiving any more. New colors will be available by the end of the month. The new color combinations are as follows:
WHITE / LIGHT GREY
BLACK / DARK GREY
PINK / LIGHT PINK
BLUE / DARK BLUE
PURPLE / LIGHT PURPLE
If you send me a picture of the Apple store receipt as well as a picture of the damage and note your color preference, I can have one sent out to you when they become available.
Thanks!"
These color options do NOT interest me nearly as much as the original ones do, but I guess we'll see how good they actually look once they come out. In response I asked if there was a way I could see how the cases looked before I chose, and I've yet to hear back. Update when Speck responds.
